A. doPDF (www.novapdf.com) : Compiles .doc to .pdf without hassle. You can right away log on to www.novapdf.com to download the software and install it on your computer.
B. PrimoPDF (www.primopdf.com): Excellent complier with no appatrent catch. You can equally log on here to download and install in your system.
C. PDF995 (www.pdf995.com/): Displays a sponsor page in your web browser each time you run the software. To remove the ads, a key can be purchased for it.
D. CutePDF (www.cutepdf.com/): requires PS2PDF converter to work. You can download it for free on the website above.
E. DocuDesk (www.docudesk.com/): Fully functional for the first 5 uses. You can still use this compiler after 5 PDFs, however a watermark will be added to all documents untill you register the software.
F. PDFill (www.pdfill.com/): Another free compiler with no pop-up ads or watermarks.
STEP.2 Install the compiler. When the installation is complete, you'll notice that a new driver will be added to your list of printers. Don't worry if you can't find an icon on your desktop. As i have said earlier, they serve as printers' driver. So locate it from your print options dialogue box.
STEP.3 Assuming that your documents is already written, open your file with word processor of your choice. If don't have one already, consider downloading open office at www.openoffice.org Its an open source (read free) alternative to microsoft's office suit and also comes with a PDF compiler.
When you're satisfied with the layout of your document, click on file Print and select the newly installed compiler. When you click on print, the PDF compiler will launch automatically. Chose the settings of your choice; pick a location to save the file and press OK.
